Background
Founded in 2015 (...in a dorm room), TutorMe was born to connect students with highly-qualified tutors from the comfort of your couch or favorite coffee shop. In 2022, TutorMe was acquired by GoGuardian; leadership determined that each of it's acquired products would maintain their brand recognition in the marketplace rather than being consolidated under a single brand. In August 2023, this idea was overturned in favor of a consolidated suite of Curriculum and Instruction products, known as Pear Deck Learning.
Okay, now that the history lesson is over... Let's begin!

Accessible Kit o' Parts
As a learning company it's extremely important that our content be understandable, operable, and perceivable to all users. In creating any website, I define all component styles in Figma with adherence to WCAG AA accessibility standards. A good website should be able to employ assistive technologies without content losing it's meaning.

Custom Iconography & Illustrations
A sampling of custom-made icons and illustrations I created to evolve the brand presence on the TutorMe website. The icons were designed half flat and half line art to represent the fundamental skills that students learn and master over the course of a tutoring session.

Applied UI in Content Blocks
The individual UI elements come together to create content blocks that make building landing pages on the backend seamless and efficient. A content creator can autonomously build a page with the blocks available to them in Webflow, while there is flexibility for a developer to create bespoke experiences when the occasion calls.
Navigation 1.0
This version of the website was an MVP, so we had to make some concessions to get it out the door. One of the biggest elements that we wanted for our users was the ability to way find based on their organization and persona in the learning ecosystem.
The next step was to add navigation by persona, but the company had moved on to the brand consolidation of Pear Deck Learning. In that site, we used this strategy of way finding (solution + product + persona) per my recommendation.

UX Feedback and Forms
I have a strong passion for creating functional forms with multiple points of feedback for the user experience. Nothing irritates me more than filling out a form that cannot be submitted and not understanding what went wrong. Below are some elements and user feedback that we employed to create an aesthetic and effective form. We want the experience to be as seamless as possible to get leads into the funnel.

Resource Library
TutorMe was a content marketing forward company. Ultimately, we were always looking for ways to provide education, processes, and tips to our users. It was imperative that our content be searchable and navigable through UI elements like table of contents in blog posts, content filters in our resource library, and related content accessible at multiple points in the learning process.
